Group News – KOTRA Logistics has opened a new fruit and vegetable hub in Bleiswijk (Netherlands)

KOTRA Logistics is moving into the former Hoogsteder premises in Bleiswijk.

This marks a new milestone for our partner in the expansion of its logistics operations into the Scandinavian market. Our entire group is also benefiting from the new opportunities offered by this location in Bleiswijk and the joint European development of the DELANCHY – KOTRA alliance.

“The Greenery is centralising its operations, and the Bleiswijk site is an ideal hub for us to further develop our activities in the fruit and vegetable sector. We handle fruit and vegetable deliveries for Coop throughout the Benelux, but particularly in the Netherlands. We can now distribute all these goods in Bleiswijk, a central location, before transporting them to distribution centres in Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim and other Norwegian cities” – Erik de Koeijer

Like DELANCHY, KOTRA regards fruit and vegetables as an important product category to combine with other fresh produce.

“In Germany, for example, we supply Transgourmet with fish, but there are also opportunities to combine this with the transport of fruit and vegetables. However, we believe it is important that the activities are compatible. We are not going to engage in blind competition. There are enough bad examples of this. But in Norway, this opportunity is available to us and we are seizing it with both hands” – Erik de Koeijer

DELANCHY will therefore also be able to support this new development in Europe.

“With this new KOTRA platform, our group is further enhancing its European offering. We have 8,000 m² at the heart of the production regions, enabling shipments to various destinations such as southern Europe or distribution across northern Europe.” – Brigitte Delanchy
