Delanchy and Chéreau introduce their hydrogen semi-trailer at the HyVolution Trade Fair

An important partnership for innovation in refrigerated transport.

The HyVolution Trade Fair was held this week in Paris, an event dedicated to hydrogen in its fields of application and production: energy, industry and mobility.

It was an opportunity to get information, but above all to discuss the technological advances surrounding this energy and the projects underway and planned. 2019 was a year of great support for hydrogen and its development, with announcements in the public and private sectors. A turning point seems to have been reached in making this an important energy in our society… and in the near future!

Transport is of course one of the target areas. The trade fair brought together exhibitors from the energy and industry sectors to devise the technical solutions required for the deployment of hydrogen, but also from many private and public organisations.

A WebTV was set up with a stage, where various guests discussed the propositions. We had the honour of being invited to share our vision of hydrogen development in road transport and Brigitte Delanchy took part in the debate alongside Christophe Danton, Head of Communication and Marketing for the Chéreau Group.

Projet Chereau Delanchy

The Chéreau and Delanchy Groups test a semi-trailer with a hydrogen cooling unit.

The partnership with the Delanchy Group was unveiled at the Chéreau press conference. The Hydrogen Power H2 semi-trailer was exhibited at the entrance to the trade fair to mark the occasion.

The official handover to the Delanchy Group will take place on 17 February 2020 at Saint-Malo. Symbolic, as this is the start date and place of the 2020 tour of the ENERGY OBSERVER vessel, a project to which the Chéreau Group has just lent its support, by joining us and becoming a partner of the boat.

From 19 February, the Hydrogen Power H2 semi-trailer will be operating out of Frigo Transports 50 at Torigny-les-Villes. While we wait for the mass production of this truck, we will continue to test the prototype in real conditions and provide our feedback.

Frigo Transports 50 was chosen due to its proximity to the Chéreau workshops but also because the department of La Manche, is already heavily involved in new energy development projects, and will be providing us with a supply of hydrogen from the Saint-Lô station.

We are all eagerly awaiting the initial feedback from the drivers who will be taking charge of this magnificent Chéreau Hydrogen Power H2 semi-trailer.
